Welcome Address

On behalf of the conference committee of the Fourth Asian Conference on Multibody Dynamics, 2008(ACMD2008), it is my pleasure to invite you to the beautiful Jeju Island from the 20th - 23rd of August for the ACMD2008.

In previous years, ACMD was held in Japan(2002, 2006) and Korea(2004). Since its birth in Japan in 2002, ACMD has successfully provided an open forum for exchanging advances and new developments in the field of multibody dynamics and related topics.
The main purpose of ACMD2008 is to give an opportunity to exchange the scientific and technical achievements of all conference attendees.

The last ACMD on multibody dynamics was successfully held in Japan with 124 papers from 19 countries. This year, 167 papers from 17 countries are expected. In addition, there are two key note lectures by professor Chernousko, from the Russian academy of science and U.K.Lee, vice president at Hyundai-Kia motor Co.

The conference will be held in Jeju Island, which is a special self-governing province. It has been selected as a world heritage sites of UNESCO; Nature Sanctuaries, and is home to numerous natural and historical sites. Furthermore, the KAL hotel, which is the conference venue, is well known as a luxury resort hotel with a beautiful mountain and south pacific sea view and many other facilities. I believe all the conference attendees will enjoy the opportunity to tour Jeju Island in addition to participating in excellent technical achievement.

I would like to thank the authors and reviewers for their excellent and invaluable contributions toward the high quality papers. I would also like to express my appreciation to the international and local committee members for their effort put into this conference.

We, as the local committee members, are all looking forward to seeing you in August 2008 in Jeju Island.
